Silent Hill: Townfall is a new first-person psychological-survival horror game set on the fog-bound Scottish island town of St. Amelia in 1996. Players take on the role of Simon Ordell, who returns to the island to “put things right,” only to uncover buried memories, hostile creatures, and a truth that will not stay hidden. It launches September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

The nightmare

• A new Silent Hill setting: Rather than the familiar titular town, Townfall moves the series to St. Amelia—a desolate coastal island blanketed in fog, where abandoned streets, a marina, and residential districts conceal its violent past.

• First-person immersion: It is the first full-length Silent Hill game presented entirely in first person, emphasizing vulnerability, limited information, and being trapped directly inside the town’s oppressive atmosphere.

• A strange CRTV companion: Simon carries a pocket CRT television that transmits cryptic video signals and helps reveal fragments of the past, making it central to both the story and exploration.

Gameplay

• Evade or fight: Encounters emphasize tense evasive play, but when escape fails, Simon can rely on frantic, close-quarters confrontations against grotesque enemies.

• Narrative puzzles: Progress through St. Amelia requires unraveling environmental and story-driven puzzles that expose the town’s secrets and Simon’s connection to them.

• PS5 enhancements: The PS5 version supports 4K visuals, 3D Audio, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and controller-speaker effects designed to make radio static, creature sounds, and environmental tension feel more immediate.

Release

• Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive, Silent Hill: Townfall arrives on September 24 for PS5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. A Deluxe Edition grants 48-hour early access, while PS5 pre-orders also include CRTV cosmetic bonuses.
